Señora DeShea is the Director and owner of The Spanish Academy. DeShea opened The Spanish Academy in September of 2001. She is a graduate from The University of Georgia with a degree in International Business. She lived in Seville, Spain in 1997. She is married and has two children. Her goal is to create a total immersion environment in which children look forward to coming to school each day while developing a lifelong love of learning and a proficiency in Spanish. She has always had a passion for children and language and loves her job.
Señora Becky is the Director of The Spanish Academy in East Cobb and the Curriculum Coordinator for our program. She is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico and has been living in the United States since 1986. Becky has two daughters and has been married for over 20 years. She has been teaching at The Spanish Academy for over 8 years and has worked with pre-school students for 18 years. She is currently teaching 3 & 4 year olds, Kindergarten and after school students. She has a degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Interamericana of Puerto Rico.
Señora Lilah is the Assistant Director of The Spanish Academy in Suwanee. She graduated from Aquinas College in Michigan with a major in Spanish and an minor in Bilingual Education. Her Masters is from Western Michigan University in Educational Leadership. Lilah was a pioneer teacher in an immersion program in Forest Hills Public Schools, a district outside of Grand Rapids, MI. She taught kindergarten, first grade and second grade before moving into the role of principal of that program. Lilah also works as a educational consultant through her company add.a.lingua, for various immersion programs in the mid-west. Lilah and her family recently moved to Georgia from Michigan and her three children attend the Spanish Academy.
Señora Bego is from Ecuador and has been living in the United States for 13 years. She has been teaching children for 9 years and working at The Spanish Academy for 4 years. She is an assistant teacher in the Kindergarten classroom and lead teaches Pre K students. She studied Psychology in Ecuador. She lives with her husband and two daughters and loves painting. She enjoys working with children because every child is different, and she likes to help them find a better way to learn .
Señora Verónica is from Mexico and has been living in Atlanta since 1995. She has a Degree in Business and has been working at The Spanish Academy for 6 years. She teaches 2 and 3 year old students. She feels teaching young children is the most gratifying and fun experience. She has two children of her own and lives in Alpharetta.
Señora Paula is from Colombia and has been living in the United States for 14 years. She has worked for The Spanish Academy teaching children 3 years and up for 4 years. She enjoys working with children because of their sense of humor, energy and imagination. She has a bachelor's in Hotel and Tourism Management from Colombia. She lives with her husband and two sons and loves to read and spend time with family and friends.
Señora Ana is originally from Costa Rica, and she is a substitute teacher at The Spanish Academy. Ana has been teaching at the school for 7 years. She is a graduate from Easter University in Pennsylvania with a degree in Organizational Management and also has a degree in Early Childhood Education. She is married and has three children.
Señora Leslie is from Puerto Rico. She got her undergraduate degree at the University of Puerto Rico and completed her masters degree at the University of Texas. She is married and has 2 children, both in middle school.This is her second year working for The Spanish Academy. She teaches 2 year olds in Buckead and assists in the Pre K class in East Cobb. She loves teaching young children and admires their energy, curiosity, and their capability to learn.
Señora Tatiana is a Kindergarten teacher at The Spanish Academy, and has been working at The Spanish Academy for 4 years. She is from Peru and graduated from University of Lima and earned a degree in Industrial Engineering. She worked for 7 years as a loan officer before taking a break to take care of her kids. She has been living in the USA since 2000 and moved to Atlanta in 2006. She lives in Cumming with her husband 2 kids and a dog.
Señora Denisse is from Lima, Peru and has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. She worked at a Telecom company for 4 years before she moved to Georgia. She is married and moved to Georgia in 2010. This is Denisse's second year teaching at The Spanish Academy. She is teaching 2 and 3 year old children in East Cobb and children 3 - 5 years old in Buckhead. She always wanted to teach young children so working at the Spanish Academy has allowed her to fulfill one of her dreams.
Señora Natalia is from Argentina, and she moved to Atlanta in 2000. Natalia is a graduate from Catholic University in Buenos Aires, Argentina with a degree in Accounting. She worked in the finance for 14 years. She is married and has 2 children. She believes that every kid is different and that learning and fun can go together. This is her second year at The Spanish Academy, and she is currently teaching 2 and 3 years old in East Cobb.
